Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Kalumbi Shangula, on Wednesday announced that Namibia has recorded 41 COVID-19 positive new cases and one death.
This brings the number of cumulative confirmed cases to 35 242.
Shangula, while speaking at the daily COVID-19 update, said the positive cases have a gender distribution of 29 males and 12 females ranging between the ages of 17 and 77.
Kavango East recorded the highest number of cases at 18, followed by Khomas at 12 and //Kharas Region at three cases. The Erongo, Oshikoto and Omusati each recorded two cases, while Omaheke and Ohangwena each recorded one case, he said.
A total of 103 new recoveries were also recorded, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 33 778.
Shangula said the person who died was a 39-year-old man from Walvis Bay.
Active cases stood at 1 079, with 111 people being hospitalized of which 15 were in intensive care units.
