What is your name
My name is Leizy but my full name is Lazarus Nainda. My classmates were lazy to call me by my full name, so they called me Leizy, now i am known as Dj Leizy
When were you born
I was born in Oshakati the capital of Nothern Namibia on the 29th of April many many years back
How did you become a DJ?
It was when i was asked to assist Tyapa with Onyika. It was a dream come true for me and i grabbed the opportunity with both hands
When did you become a DJ?
I have been in this business for almost eight years now.
When did you join Energy?
8 years ago
What's your favourite type of music
As a DJ I like all types of music but because I present Onyika I have now fallen in love with African music since Onyika’s music is strictly African.
What is your normal day like?
After my show I keep myself busy by training young boys (at a local school) in the art of playing football. I also play pool.
Did you make any blunders while you were starting?
Of course, starting is always difficult but the trick is to learn from your mistakes.
Any memorable ones in particular?
There is one occasion when I was on air and I forgot to push my slider down, the phone rang and I began to speak with lady I was cheating with and naturally, the whole conversation was on air.
Where do you hang out?
I am the kind of guy who likes to hangout in Katutura’s shebeen where life is.
What do you like about your job?
With this kind of job, you meet and make new friends everyday and you get an opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life.
What does the future hold for you?
I see myself going a long way, maybe become one of the top presenter or even manager of a radio station in this country.
What advice would you give for those who want to follow the same career as you?
If you want to be a DJ or a presenter you should be a hardworking person, a talkative person, because to be an announcer you have to talk. But one should be really hardworking and very serious
Are you married, single or in a relationship?
I am just there man! Not yet married, just a happy single man though I am currently seeing someone…but the system is push and pull, nobody knows…
