Geingob inaugurates MobiPay Oshakati branch


Trade and Industry Minister Dr Hage Geingob officially launched the MobiPay flagship branch at Oshakati in the Oshana Region on Monday.
The company now has branches in Windhoek, Walvis Bay and Oshakati.
MobiPay is Namibia's first mobile payment solution company, and has a number of agents around the country.
“MobiPay is a fully Namibian-owned company, and it is about cash in your mobile phone,” Geingob said.
Although it is a new company in the Namibian market, its services are easy to understand and it requires only a secret code.

Kankoshi commends Struwig


The Oshikoto Regional Councillor for the Onyaanya constituency says the region’s retired education Deputy Director, Andre Struwig, has a rich history in the development of education in the region.
Councillor Henock Kankoshi said this whilst speaking during Struwig’s farewell party, which coincided with the annual awards ceremony of the Oshikoto Education Directorate that was held at Uukule Secondary School at Onyaanya over the weekend.

Prime Minister encourages Okalumbu teachers and learners


Prime Minister Nahas Angula has called on learners at the Okalumbu Combined School (CS) at his home village of Okalumbu to always bear in mind that school is preparation for their future.
The village is situated near Onyaanya in the Oshikoto Region.
The Premier made the call on Friday during his visit to the school to motivate learners and teachers to perform in order to be able to produce good results during the final examinations this year.
