The league is for Tigers to lose: Kanalelo

UNAM Football Club (FC) coach Ronny Kanalelo says Tigers Football Club has everything under control and can only blame themselves if they do not win the 2015/16 Namibia Premier League (NPL).
Kananelo said this on Saturday after his team held Black Africa to a 2-2 draw at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in round 20 of the NPL fixtures.
Black Africa are currently second on the log with 41 points, while UNAM is now 10th on 24 points from 20 games.
UNAM’s log standing can still change depending on the results of their Sunday game against Flamingoes in Rehoboth.
Tigers are the current log leader with 51 points from 21 games played thus far.
Black Africa trail the log leaders by 10 points.
Kanalelo said it is a setback for Black Africa to only collect a point from their Saturday game, because them dropping points will now mathematically hand Tigers the title.
“At the moment, it is very important for Black Africa to win all their games because a draw is really a bad result for them. If they are to catch up with Tigers who are now 10 points away and have nine games left to play in the league, winning their games should be the only thing they have to do from now on.
“I can say that as it stands everything is in Tigers’ court and the league title is for them to lose,” said Kanalelo.
Tigers are the only club in the league to have not lost a game in the last 21 games that have been played. They have won 15 games and drawn six times.
With only nine games left for Tigers, and 27 points to collect from the remaining games, Black Africa are now hoping their fortunes will change when they face Tura Magic on Sunday.
As it stands, the weekend of 27 and 28 February will be tough for Black Africa as they will face the log leader Tigers on Saturday and then the NPL defending champions African Stars on Sunday.
Stars are currently fourth on the log with 29 points from 20 games.
